Ciao Karina!

Ciao Karina!

A book, a basket & a glass of Aperol Spritz

Italian women are fashionable. Probably one of the most fashionable in the world. They are sexy with their always tanned skin, naturally dark brown hair and overdecorated clothes. Look at a Dolce & Gabbana advertisement and you will know what I’m talking about. They wear dresses, show a little bit of legs, shoulders, arms, never too much but always enough to get the deserved attention. They love colours, flower prints, a little bit of lace and embroidery. The lovers of simple style can never go wrong with white, and the lovers of la dolce vita can always wear more prints. They are sophisticated and playful. The duo only a few can copy.

Karina’s outfit is all about the Italian comfort, summer style and the latest fashion trends from the runway. The Glasgow weather finally got better and with its beautiful buildings, Merchant city is the perfect place for the photo shoot. Every photo shoot spent with Karina is about having fun, enjoying occasional modelling and a glass of Aperol Spritz to get into the mood of losing ourselves and living for the moment.

Usually looking at her always stylish outfits gets me in the mood to get some street style photos before we surprise ourselves with a cup of coffee or a cocktail. There is always something new to learn from her, mainly because we dress differently, but we both speak the language of fashion. We know what we like and we like to remember it, whoever takes the photos.

A leather jacket is a must-have. You can wear it with anything and we both vote for a black one. White is the colour you wear during summer because it makes your skin look tanned and it brightens up anyone around you. From now on white is an all season colour. The shoes are Gucci. My H&M loafers are beautiful but they are probably jealously watching me staring at Karina’s red beauties. The straw bag is something we have to talk more about. My first memory of a straw bag goes back to being a 10 years old girl, who helps her grandma putting all the fresh vegetable in a basket. Then I introduced myself to fashion and found a photo of Linda Evangelista with a straw tote bag in the Dolce & Gabbana ad. Then all of a sudden it is 2018 and the straw bags are still not “so last year”, every one is falling in love with them. They are summery, easy to wear because of their neutral colours and every year has their own statement. 2018 is all about straw bags, big straw hats and wearing these accessories with anything, anywhere.

Just like that, you can wear a straw bag In Glasgow, for a quick dinner & cocktails followed by a stroll and some perfectly spontaneous photos to show your inner Italian lady in white.

It’s time to take our Girls Trip to Milan plans into action.
